IIJ Secure MX Service

Email Sending and Receiving Measures

In addition to the threat mail filter, we also provide functions for email sending and receiving measures.

Sender authentication support [Basic feature]

SPF - Domain name and sender server integrity checks

The sender's IP address of the received email is compared with the SPF record registered by the sender in advance. You check to see whether the email is sent from a legitimate email server.

DKIM - Email validity checks

Inspect the electronic signature of the received email and check the legitimacy of the email itself. Also, when sending, you can use a simple operation to add a DKIM signature to all outbound emails.

DMARC - Define countermeasures for authentication failure

When authentication fails, actions such as quarantine/rejection are executed based on the DMARC policy predetermined by the sender. You can expect to improve the reliability of legitimate emails sent from your company domain. Also, on the receiving side, you can expect to eliminate spoofed emails that could not be determined based on SPF or DKIM authentication results alone.

Route encryption [Basic feature]

Communication path is encrypted to prevent Internet eavesdropping (viewing of data). We support TLS-based path encryption, which is becoming popular in the financial and pharmaceutical industries in the West.

* TLS: Transport Layer Security. This is one of the common communication encryption protocol.

Mail Suspension [Basic feature]

If a failure occurs in one of your servers or the network, IIJ will temporarily hold your email. Because email is held/delivered by IIJ, email is returned to the sender MTA so that there is no delay in retransmission. Administrators have the ability to switch between holding and normal operation from the customer's exclusive management page. This enables you to control delivery during planned outages, such as building blackouts and maintenance.

Spare Mail [Basic feature]

The Spare Mail Option provides access to Webmail over a browser in the event that customer email systems are unavailable for extended periods of time due to disaster, failures, maintenance, or other circumstances. Email can be continuously exchanged on the same domains and accounts.
With unlimited disk space, up to 14 days' worth of email can be stored so that email BCP and DR plans can be executed without needing to invest in new facilities.

Turning email attachment into URL (away from PPAP) [Optional feature]

The Spare Mail Option provides access to Webmail over a browser in the event that customer email systems are unavailable for extended periods of time due to disaster, failures, maintenance, or other circumstances. Email can be continuously exchanged on the same domains and accounts.
With unlimited disk space, up to 14 days' worth of email can be stored so that email BCP and DR plans can be executed without needing to invest in new facilities.
