As a company that supports critical social infrastructure and contributes to the development of a digital society, the IIJ Group respects human rights in all of its business activities and aims to create a sustainable society.
We respect human rights and workers' rights based on international norms and applicable laws, and take appropriate measures to prevent any actions that undermine the dignity of all individuals. In promoting respect for human rights, the IIJ Group's Sustainability Committee formulates human rights policies and manages their implementation, with the Board of Directors overseeing these activities. We also continuously engage in human rights due diligence based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We also utilize internal and external expertise on human rights, engage in dialogue and consultations with stakeholders, conduct appropriate awareness activities for all officers and employees, and ensure that our business partners are properly informed of the IIJ Group's human rights policy.
Since FY2017, IIJ has implemented a system to prevent harassment, and periodically provides harassment prevention training for managers and general employees at each level. The Human Resources Department provides a consultation service for issues related to harassment. It reviews recurrence prevention measures and other measures regularly and continuously implements improvements.
At IIJ, we believe that, in order to continue providing high-quality services to our customers, it is essential for us to protect our employees from excessive demands and create a safe working environment where employees can work in good mental and physical health, and with peace of mind. We have therefore formulated the IIJ Basic Policy on Customer Harassment.
The IIJ Group's management philosophy includes the commitment that "We aim to offer meaningful working opportunities for growth through business, in which our staff with diversified talents and values can take a proactive approach to technical innovation and social contribution, and actively demonstrate their abilities with pride and a sense of satisfaction." We have consistently practiced—and will continue to practice—human resources utilization and promotion based on merit while respecting various perspectives and values, accepting diverse individuals regardless of attributes such as gender, nationality, or disabilities, or whether they are new graduates or mid-career hires. By continuously pursuing the above management philosophy, we also aim to create new technologies and values.
The IIJ Group aims to create a sustainable society by deepening mutual understanding and building trusting relationships with all suppliers, and continuously working to establish and maintain a safe and secure supply chain. We comply with domestic and international laws and regulations, provide our suppliers with fair and competitive business opportunities, and respect the human rights of all stakeholders, including those in our supply chain. We also comply with environmental laws and regulations, work to reduce our environmental impact on society as a whole through environmentally conscious procurement activities, and strictly manage information security, including maintaining the confidentiality of information obtained through our transactions, with consideration for quality and safety.
