IIJ launches IIJ Data Center Facility Management Service for monitoring and operating modular data center facilities

Providing everything from module sales to monitoring, operating, and maintaining facilities in a one-stop shop

December 15, 2015

TOKYO-December 15, 2015-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the immediate launch of the IIJ Data Center Facility Management Service, which offers monitoring, operations, and maintenance of modular data center facilities such as power supply and cooling systems.

In 2011, IIJ opened the Matsue Data Center Park-Japan' first commercial modular data center using outside air–cooling which has been operating as the commercial facilities for IIJ's cloud services. Currently, to meet the needs of customers that prefer on-premises modular data centers, IIJ sells Eco modular data center "co-IZmo/I"-which uses indirect outside-air cooling system-in Japan and abroad.

With the IIJ Data Center Facility Management Service, IIJ will offer a service that provides remote monitoring and operations of numerous aspects of modular data centers, including electrical and cooling facilities, internal temperature and humidity, and electricity consumption. In addition to its IT/cooling all-in-one feature and the ability to rapidly build data centers, co-IZmo/I is a data center module perfect for cloud computing and big data analysis, with many benefits that include incremental scaling by connecting modules and easy expansion. With this service that offers facility operation, monitoring, periodic inspections and on-site trouble shooting, and IIJ's ability to deliver everything from data center facilities design to constructing a network and cloud infrastructure, IIJ offers total facilities management.
