IIJ Election Network Solution supports the digital transformation of local government election operations by securely connecting polling stations to election management systems hosted in a government cloud or on-premises via a secure private mobile network using multi-carrier SIMs (NTT DOCOMO/KDDI).
No dedicated communication lines or modifications to existing internal government networks are required. The solution enables municipalities to quickly and cost-effectively deploy flexible voting environments, such as shared polling stations, helping to streamline election operations, reduce the workload of election staff, and improve convenience for residents.

Combining NTT DOCOMO and KDDI networks provides a multi-carrier private network optimized for election networks where uninterrupted communications are critical. Because traffic does not traverse the public Internet, communications remain secure and reliable.
Each SIM can be switched between Active (service resumed) and Suspend (service paused) (DOCOMO network). SIMs can be activated only during election periods and suspended at other times for greater flexibility. In addition to SIMs, government cloud connectivity services can also be suspended as needed.
* A minimum contract period applies.
Connecting all polling places with dedicated lines can increase costs and deployment lead times. With this solution, all polling places can be connected over a private network simply by installing a router at each polling place.
Direct connectivity from the private network to the government cloud eliminates the need to modify your internal government network. Flexible connectivity to private cloud and on-premises environments is also supported.
