TOKYO - July 28, 2026 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (TSE Prime: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced an investment in AGI7 Inc. (head office: California, USA), developer of the Physical AI platform Alpha Vision. IIJ has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 17, 2026, with AGI7's Japan subsidiary Alpha Vision Japan ("AVJ") on strategic collaboration toward expanding sales of the platform in the Japanese market. Alpha Vision monitors physical spaces based on data obtained from cameras, analyzing the data to support operational improvements in various industries.

Background

The growth of generative AI is rapidly expanding the uses of AI for assisting with document creation, information search and other deskwork. At the same time, workplaces in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, construction, retail, and public infrastructure are facing important management issues including personnel shortages, the need to improve productivity, and the advancement of safety and security measures. These issues demand optimization of on-site management and quick decision-making. To address these needs, Physical AI is attracting growing interest for its ability to understand events occurring at worksites and converts them into actionable data that can support and improve operations.

Overview of the investment and collaboration

Alpha Vision, provided by AGI7, is a Physical AI platform that draws on computer vision AI, generative AI, and AI agent technologies. Making use of data obtained from cameras, it continually monitors the situation in physical spaces, helping to improve workplace operational efficiency and security.
It also enables users to search video footage using natural-language queries, allowing them to quickly find and review past events, thereby contributing to a better grasp of necessary information and faster decision-making. In addition, through behavioral and attribute analysis of people and vehicles, it is able to discover safety and security risks and operational issues in the work environment. AI then generates analytical reports with suggested improvements. In such ways, video data originally recorded for security and surveillance purposes can be utilized as data resources supporting workplace improvements and management decision-making.
Through this investment and collaboration, IIJ and AVJ will provide the Japanese market with comprehensive solutions combining Alpha Vision with IIJ services and solutions in fields including networking, security, IoT, micro data centers, and operations. Customers will benefit not only from the strengths of Alpha Vision as a Physical AI platform, but also from IIJ's broad range of services and integrated support structure from implementation through operation.

Main areas of collaboration

  • Sales and business development activities for Alpha Vision in Japan
  • Joint development and provision of integrated solutions and industry-specific solutions in combination with IIJ services
  • Provision of managed services from introduction to operation and including technical support and help with improvement
  • Joint marketing activities by means of seminars, tradeshows, etc.

Expected benefits

  • Reduced workload for on-site personnel
  • Improved operational efficiency and productivity through workplace monitoring and trend analysis
  • Prevention of incidents and operational disruptions through detection of suspicious or hazardous behavior and AI-generated voice alerts
  • Improved service quality through continuous analysis of people flows and attribute data

To promote the practical deployment of Physical AI in Japan, IIJ Group will continue working with AVJ to explore technology and service development, while strengthening their cooperative in sales and marketing.
