IIJ Through the BIC Camera Group Offers Japan Travel SIM Unlimited for BIC SIM, a Prepaid SIM Card for Visitors to Japan, with Unlimited Data Capacity and 5G Support

TOKYO – June 17, 2026 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (TSE Prime: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced Japan Travel SIM Unlimited for BIC SIM , a prepaid SIM card providing mobile data communication service to people in Japan temporarily. Offering unlimited data capacity and 5G support, it will be progressively rolled out starting today at the nationwide retail outlets and online shops of the BIC Camera Group (BIC Camera, Kojima, and Sofmap).

As the number of tourists visiting Japan from other countries continues to grow, their needs for mobile communication services during their stay are becoming more diverse. Increasingly, they are enjoying video content or taking part in online meetings on their mobile devices, and using various kinds of mobile apps. Naturally, they would prefer fast and stable communication without worrying about data capacity limits. Against this background, IIJ has newly added Japan Travel SIM Unlimited for BIC SIM, with unlimited data capacity, to the already available Japan Travel SIM plans with various capacity options.

This service can be used in Japan throughout the au 5G or 4G (LTE) service coverage area. What's more, the service can be used right away simply by plugging the purchased SIM card into a mobile device, without the need for online registration or the like, making it available soon after arrival in Japan. Or, if a prepaid SIM or other communication means readied prior to coming to Japan is used up, this service can be initiated at any time needed during the stay.

Note that some terminals may require APN and other setup procedures.
This service is for data communication use only. It cannot be used for voice or short message service.
