IIJ Europe to Announce its Place as a Supplier Under the UK Government's G-Cloud 6 Framework

March 19, 2015
IIJ Europe Limited

LONDON-19th March 2015-IIJ Europe Limited (IIJ Europe), a London-based provider of systems integration and IT services in Europe and a wholly owned subsidiary of Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it has been awarded a place as an IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) supplier within the latest version of the UK government-operated G-Cloud framework, the G-Cloud 6. Effective as of February 2, 2015, it will allow IIJ Europe to assist the government and public sector bodies in procuring cloud computing services.

G-Cloud 6 is a cloud initiative of the UK government whose aims include more efficient implementation of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) and lower costs through the use of cloud computing services. Suppliers gain the right to participate in tenders by the various government bodies, and are also registered in an online catalogue called the "Digital Marketplace." The Digital Marketplace allows organisations and bodies that invite tenders to search, select and purchase the cloud computing services from among the listed suppliers.

IIJ Europe-which benefits from the advanced technological expertise and operational experience that the IIJ Group has garnered in Japan-launched the cloud-based "IIJ GIO EU Service" in the European region in 2013. The company has since worked actively to strengthen its alliances with its partners, and to operate and enhance the information security management system. Adding the G-cloud Agreement to its portfolio greatly enhances the company's position to cater for the cloud computing market place. IIJ Europe will continue to strive to communicate closely with its customers and to develop business with strong roots in the European region.
