IIJ Announces 4th Quarter Results for the Period Ended March 31, 2000
Tokyo and New York, May 22, 2000 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (NASDAQ: IIJI) ("IIJ"), one of Japan's leading Internet-access and Internet-related services providers, today announced the results of its operations for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2000. All figures are unaudited and prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States for interim financial information.

4Q99 and FY 1999 Results Summary
  • Revenues increased 44.3% year over year (YoY) and 34.5% quarter over quarter (QoQ) to JPY 7,588 million, due primarily to revenues generated from Dedicated Access Service and Systems Integration (SI).
  • SI revenue increased 277.2% (YoY) and 135.6% (QoQ) to JPY 3,090 million which represented 40.7% of the total revenue.
  • Total number of contracts for Dedicated Access Services increased 21.0% YoY and 8.1% QoQ to 2,004.
  • Due to strong demand for higher bandwidth, total bandwidth contracted for Dedicated Access Services increased 148.4% YoY and 28.3% QoQ to approximately 1,540Mbps.
  • The total number of contracts for Dial-up Access Services, including OEM, increased 121.7% YoY and 19.9% QoQ to 130,140.
  • In total, revenues of FY1999 increased 71.3% to JPY 25,302 million.
