IIJ Announces 3rd Quarter Results for the Period Ended December 31, 1999
Tokyo and New York, February 14, 2000 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (NASDAQ: IIJI) ("IIJ"), one of Japan's leading Internet-access and Internet-related services providers, today announced the results of its operations for the third quarter ended December 31, 1999. All figures are unaudited and prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States for interim financial information.

3Q99 Results Summary
  • Revenues increased 74.2% year-over-year (YoY) and decreased 15.5% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) to JPY 5,641 million. The strong YoY growth came from an increase of revenue from dedicated access service and systems integration (SI). The QoQ decline was due to high SI revenue in 2Q99 relating to the completion of a large SI project.
  • Total number of contracts for Dedicated Access Services increased 18.6 % YoY and 6.5 % QoQ to 1,853.
  • Due to strong demand for higher bandwidth, total bandwidth contracted for Dedicated Access Service increased 150.0 % YoY and 36.4 % QoQ to approximately 1,200Mbps.
  • The total number of contracts for Dial-up Access Services, including OEM, increased 104.0 % YoY and 18.2 % QoQ to 108,499.
