IIJ Secure MX Service : Service Overview

About the Service Overview

A complete line-up of email security measures, including email storage and other functions considered important parts of the Japanese-version SOX. An ASP Gateway model means that you can be confident in the service quality, without having to change your current email system, and without incurring operational labor or asset risks.

Service Overview1:IIJ Secure MX Service

Spam Mail Filter

The advanced McAfee filter quarantines spam emails (Japanese-language spam as well). This service features advanced precision and convenience, backed by the greatest performance record in the Japanese market.

Anti-Virus

In addition to the Sophos antivirus engine, standard features include updates that respond to the latest virus outbreaks, reducing the risk of viruses slipping past.

Temporary Hold

Outgoing email is held temporarily, allowing the sender to reconfirm whether or not there are any mistakes in the recipient's address. Possible settings include immediately sending an email after confirmation, cancelling transmission, and automatic processing after an email has been held for a certain period of time (send/discard). This prevents mistakenly addressed emails due to careless mistakes.

Attachment Encryption

Automatically encrypts any attachment sent via email. It is also possible to automatically send the password for decrypting the attachment after an email is sent (including setting the time-lapse before password notification, and cancellation within a certain period of time). This prevents information leaks when an email is sent to the wrong address.

Route Encryption

Another feature of this service is the encryption of signals between email servers on the Internet, preventing the risk of email transmission interception. The encryption is handled without the user having to perform any special tasks.

Mail Suspension

When the customer's email system is stopped due to maintenance or trouble, incoming email is temporarily stored at IIJ until the system is restored to proper order, alleviating concerns when maintenance work is being carried out.

Sender Authentication

Supports sender authentication (SPF/DKIM). Provides features essential for email security in this day and age, such as phishing countermeasures.

Log/Statistics Information Download

It is possible to store email logs at IIJ to aid non-delivery investigations and the preservation of evidence, and download them in CSV format. Customers can also view statistical information regarding spam and viruses on a graphical screen.

Mail Archiving (Option)

The IIJ Secure MX Service allows companies to archive all incoming and outgoing email messages, strengthening internal controls and preserving evidence for use in court cases. IIJ also offers long-term, large-capacity storage, and high-speed online search services, in addition to periodic backup to external media and delivery.

Mail Auditing (Option)

Examines outgoing email text and attachments, and filters messages that match certain criteria. This prevents information leaks from occurring.

Mailbox (Option)

By fully outsourcing the entire email system (including mail spool), customers can reduce the operational burden associated with running an email system in-house. The IIJ Secure MX Service also supports encrypted communication (incoming/ outgoing), as well as restricting access by connection source, and placing limitations on message forwarding.

Mailing List (Option)

Enables the operation of mailing lists without the need for additional equipment. As it is possible to register members from outside the company as well, this feature can be used to share information on a project basis or with partner companies

Link to Online Storage (DOX) (Option)

File attachments can be automatically moved to online storage, generating an automated email message indicating the URL for downloading the file. This reduces the risk of information leaking outside the organization due to mistakenly addressed emails, as well as reducing server load and capacity.

Account Management API (Option)

Enables the automation of the account management operations necessary for using this service through use of a management API.
