IIJ and SOFTCREATE Expand Strategic Partnership for Cloud Business

Adopting IIJ's cloud services as SOFTCREAT's SCCloud platform to provide next-generation cloud services

November 17, 2016
Internet Initiative Japan Inc.
SOFTCREATE CORP.

TOKYO-November 17, 2016-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774) and SOFTCREATE CORP. (SOFTCREATE), a wholly owned subsidiary of SOFTCREATE HOLDINGS CORP., today announced the expansion of their strategic partnership to strengthen their collaborative projects in the cloud computing sector.

IT systems are already well on their way to going beyond "cloud first" and moving into the age of "cloud must," which builds systems using the cloud as a platform. As a matter of course, for enterprises to accelerate innovation, clouds are necessary for fast and reliable operation of IT platforms.

The two companies have collaborated on projects so far, including sales of "IIJ Omnibus service," IIJ's cloud network service, as part of SOFTCREATE's SCLINE lineup of network services. And now "IIJ GIO Infrastructure P2," IIJ's IaaS service, has been adopted as the next platform to be used for the SCCloud cloud service that SOFTCREATE has been offering since 2011. IIJ will work to sell these cloud solutions from SOFTCREATE with a primary focus on medium-sized businesses.

IIJ and SOFTCREATE will be able to provide more competitive services to their customers by building a complementary relationship in which each firm can leverage its respective cloud layer strengths as a cloud integration partner.

IIJ GIO Infrastructure P2

IIJ GIO Infrastructure P2 is a high-quality enterprise cloud service that excels in safety, flexibility, and cost effectiveness. IIJ provides an IaaS service as one unified service that combines the benefits of both public and private clouds, making seamless links possible between itself and on-premises environments and third-party cloud environments. It delivers a "one cloud" experience-a single cloud service that covers a wide range of customer needs.

SCCloud

SCCloud is the overarching name for the cloud service that SOFTCREATE has realized by leveraging its accumulated strength in the areas of deployment and support. This is a one-stop cloud service for packaged software-with the top market share in Japan-providing primarily packaged software, including LanScope Cat, a comprehensive network security tool from MOTEX; Cybozu, groupware from Cybozu; and X-point, workflow management software from ATLED.

SCLINE

This service provides Internet connections, private network IP-VPN services, and cloud network services.
