TOKYO-August 23, 2016-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the addition of the IIJmio Mobile Service Type A-a mobile data communication service that accesses au's 4G LTE network-to its IIJ's mobile service line of high-speed mobile data communication services for individuals. The service will be available starting October 1, 2016.

With the launch of this new line, the name of the IIJmio High-speed Mobile/D Service which provides a high-speed mobile data communication service using an NTT DOCOMO's LTE/3G network will be changed to "IIJmio Mobile Service Type D," effective October 1, 2016.

IIJ will deliver a multi-carrier MVNO service, so customers can choose a type of communication line based on the device and the area. When using multiple SIM cards, customers can mix SIM cards of Type A and Type D within the one plan, sharing high-speed data volume between both types.

(*1)If canceling a SIM card with voice functionality within 12 months from purchase, a voice functionality cancellation fee ((12 months - number of months used, with the first month of use considered 0 months) X JPY1,000 (plus tax)) will be incurred.
(*2)When adding a SIM card, the normal service charge of JPY2,000 (plus tax) applies per card. When choosing a SIM with voice functionality when adding a SIM card, voice calling charges will apply in addition to the additional SIM use charges. (*3)Customers using Minimum Start or Light Start Plans may add a second SIM card, and those using the Family Share Plan may add a fourth or subsequent SIM card after the start of service. For contracts for SIM cards with voice functionality, one customer may use up to five lines.
(*4)VoLTE-compatible devices purchased at au will need to be unlocked.
(*)All prices listed above exclude applicable taxes.
(*)Transmission speeds may be restricted in cases in which a Bundle Coupon (high-speed data transmission volume) has not been applied, transmission speeds have been at a maximum of 200 kbps, and the transmission volume for the most recent three days has exceeded 366 MB. Transmission speeds will be restricted when the transmission volume for the most recent three days has exceeded 3GB, regardless of whether or not a coupon has been applied.
