IIJ Acquires Certification from SAP for Hosting/Cloud Services

New IIJ GIO-based solutions will support SAP® system operations

May 08, 2013

TOKYO-May 8, 2013-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it has obtained "SAP Certified in Hosting Services" and "SAP Certified in Cloud Services" designations from SAP AG("SAP") for the quality of IIJ's hosting services and cloud services.

The "SAP Certified in Hosting Services" and "SAP Certified in Cloud Services" certifications signify that the security levels, operational management levels, infrastructure robustness, support systems, and other elements of a service meet SAP quality criteria. IIJ's hosting services and cloud services successfully passed the certification review and officially obtained certification on April 18, 2013.

Since 2010, a growing number of clients have used cloud services as a platform for their corporate information systems. IIJ GIO, IIJ's cloud service, is now in use at over 900 companies. By using SAP Business Suite - a set of applications that form the core of mission-critical operations at many companies - on the IIJ GIO platform, customers can ensure high levels of security, minimize initial investments and operating costs, and accelerate development and deployment when implementing a SAP system.

With these certifications, IIJ will begin providing customers who use IIJ GIO as a SAP Business Suite infrastructure with new solutions that offer support for implementing and operating SAP BASIS in the cloud.
The solutions, which take the IIJ GIO Unified Operation Management Service available since October 2012 and extend it to SAP software, are a service that enhances the SAP software monitoring functionality and supports both the infrastructure as a whole and specific SAP BASIC operations. The solutions also offer initial startup support for streamlining SAP software implementation in the IIJ GIO environment and other implementation-related support for BASIS design, construction, and more.

IIJ will continue to expand its business with SAP in the cloud, apply the technical prowess it has cultivated as a cloud service provider, and offer convenient SAP solutions that customers can use safely and securely on the IIJ GIO platform.
