TOKYO--August 3, 2009--Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the immediate release of the Log Analysis Option for users of the IIJ Contents Delivery Service, a high-quality stable distribution platform.
The IIJ Contents Delivery Service uses a high-volume distribution platform connected directly to IIJ's high-speed backbone to distribute the customer's content. This system provides an ideal environment for high-traffic websites, large file distribution, streaming video distribution, and similar broadband content, and even when traffic volumes suddenly spike, the customer's content can be distributed stably and at the highest quality without the need to purchase additional equipment.
The new Log Analysis Option automatically performs an analysis and presents the user with statistics via a dedicated Web interface, giving useful information such as the number of visits to certain content distributed via the IIJ Contents Delivery Service. It uses the log analysis tool developed by Cyber Area Research, Inc., and users can view a broad range of statistical information, such as the number of visits by day of week or time of day, or the number of visits by country, prefecture, or provider, as well as the user's connection environment, and other information. When distributing video, the analysis can reveal not only the date and time that the video was visited but also which portions of the video were viewed most, known as "audience rating analysis".
In the past, log analysis on the IIJ Contents Delivery Service required the customer to insert a script into the content file, but with the Log Analysis Option users can obtain a rich array of information that can be used to determine advertising effectiveness or how to improve a website or video, without any extra effort on their part.
IIJ will continue to expand its service features to provide our customers with new functionality and ease of use.
