IIJ America to Offer Enterprise E-Mail Service in the USA

TOKYO, March 1, 2001 - Internet Initiative Japan (Nasdaq: IIJI) ("IIJ"), one of Japan's leading Internet access and solutions providers, today announced that IIJ America Inc., its New York-based 86.7%-owned subsidiary, is to begin offering a new value-added e-mail accounts management service called "Enterprise E-mail Service" through partnership with USA.NET a Colorado-based global eMessaging service provider. The new service mainly targets Japanese corporations based in the United States that are looking to outsource their e-mail functions. The service is offered commercially beginning today.
Mr. Koichi Suzuki, President and CEO of IIJ, commented: "We believe this service will be beneficial for our US-based corporate customers that are seeking one-stop customer support for totally secure e-mail hosting and connectivity solutions in a cost-effective manner.
